Fun Activities For Kids!

These beautiful Islands are off the Asian coast in the sea of Marmara. The best part is that no cars are allowed. The best way to get around is by foot, scooter or bicycle. You can also rent a horse-drawn carriage ride if you’re feeling a little nostalgic (available on the two larger islands). It’s safe for children to play and explore. They also have a playground you’ll see as you get off the ferry to Büyükada and begin walking west along the water.

Büyükada, the largest of the islands, has several beaches that are open to the public. It has monuments and historical sights to visit as well such as Aya Yorgi Church and Hamidiye Mosque built by sultan Abdulhamit II. There are beautiful restaurants right on the water as well as cafes and ice cream shops to enjoy.

Heybeliada is the second largest island with lush lush green land along the crystal clear water. You can take a ride on a horse drawn carriage around this island just like in Büyükada and also has a variety of restaurants, cafes and shops.

Burgaz is the third largest island at 1.5 square km. The main attraction is probably its lack of visitors in comparison to Büyükada and Heybeliada which are attracts lots of tourists. But if you’re looking for a peaceful stroll or to read a book in a cafe then this might be for you.

Kinaliada is the fourth largest island but unless you are visiting friends or family that own a villa on the island you’d probably skip this one. However, the beaches are much less likely to be crowded.
