LEGOLAND Dubai Theme Park & Water Park

LEGOLAND Dubai Theme Park & Water Park

LEGOLAND DUBAI is an amazing park for all families! So many fun rides, live shows, workshops, and iconic Lego structures of cities from all over the world

We’ve visited LEGOLAND theme parks in the United States as well. My kids loved them! The brand is consistent with keeping its congruent themes all over the world. However, LEGOLAND Dubai ups the ante, making it a holiday destination. it’s no surprise that our trip to LEGOLAND was my kids’ favorite part of the entire trip as they are the biggest LEGO fans! It’s located about halfway between the cities of Dubai and Abu Dhabi, and only 15 minutes away from Al Maktoum Airport (DWC).

We visited both LEGOLAND theme park as well as the LEGOLAND water park. We’ll start with our review of the theme park:

LEGOLAND Theme Park

Legoland Dubai’s theme park is a full-day affair of its own. Our kids did not want to leave. Making a full-day trip with our kids needed some planning and preparation so that we could get to experience everything the kids wanted.

Some Recommendations:

1. Take a Park Map. 2. Dress accordingly- Wear comfortable shoes and appropriate clothing for the time of year as it could get very hot in the summer. 3. Purchase the souvenir bottle for unlimited refills on soft drinks and water throughout the park. 4. Bring a stroller for smaller children who may tire easily.
Some of the attractions we loved at the theme park include interactive rides, driving school, 4D Ninja show, boating school, the dragon roller coaster, the submarine and the incredible LEGO structures of Wonders of the World.
LEGOLAND consists of four major areas.

Lego City

Lego City is a great place to start where kids can have “real life” experiences! I loved this area, where you see your little ones acting as if they’re adults, super adorable and fun for the kids.
Rides like Driving School give the kids a “real-life” driving experience, where after learning the rules of the road, kids will get their official LEGOLAND® Driving License.
This zone in Legoland Dubai is an educational one for the kids. Rides such as ‘Driving School’, ‘Boating School’, ‘Police Headquarters’ and ‘Rescue Academy’ teaches the children through experience, basic civil rules of our cities. Children can actually steer a boat, drive a car and be a part of a fire rescue while understanding the nuances of living in the society and the jobs of the heroes of our day to day lives such as the cops and firefighters. Although the rides are low on the exhilaration quotient, they are meant to educate.

Miniland

We were awestruck by Miniland. It’s just unbelievable to imagine how they were able to put together such magnificent structures and how many Lego blocks must have been used to build them. We admired miniatures of tall skyscrapers of Dubai, like the Burj Khalifa, Burj Al Arab, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the Pyramids of Giza, the Taj Mahal, Petra and more. They were meticulous and amazing replications.
You can find Miniland right at the entrance of Legoland Dubai. You can also learn how Lego blocks are created at the Lego Factory right beside it. Then you can venture into the park’s other areas.

Adventure

Adventure was one of our favorite areas! They had a mix of rides and activities that we could do together as a family and they were pretty exciting! Our favorite was Submarine Adventure where we went underwater with real sea life. We watched a variety of fish swimming by and explored the lego miniature of the lost city of Atlantis. It was incredible to see this under the sea! We also loved Wave Racers. It was so exhilarating and so much fun! Another favorite was the Lost Kingdom Adventure where we used laser guns to shoot mummies and skeletons as we rode through the lost Kingdom.

Kingdoms

Our younger kids, Adam and Dean enjoyed the smaller roller coaster Dragon’s Apprentice and wanted to go on it over and over again.
We also experienced Merlin’s Flying Machine, which did require some pedaling efforts on our part! It was a carousel with airplane seats that allowed the kids to feel in control of the plane. It was a cool and unique ride; training future pilots to steer and fly their own planes!

(We Had the best lunch in Kingdoms with a tasty and large selection!)

Kingdoms is designed to be the most thrilling area with rides designed for older kids. Me and my 9-year-old Ry enjoyed this area the most! We loved the Dragon roller coaster that goes through a beautiful constructed lego castle.

Imagination

Here, we used our imaginations and creativity to build our own Lego structures. They have workshops with pre-set times that the kids can attend at the Master Builders Academy. This was great for my boys who are obsessed with Lego building at home. For kids 8 and up, you can sign up for a fun tutorial to build and program cutting edge, computerized robots that obey your every command at Lego Mindstorms.
They do have a handful of rides as well so this was a good time to split up between the rides and the Lego building. They have Lego Mindstorms, Stepping Stones, Kids Power Towers, and Lego Studios here.
At Kid Power Towers you pull yourself to the top to get a great view of the entire Park, then enjoy a fun “free-fall” to the bottom.
Lego Studios’ is a 4D cinema that shows exclusive LEGO® movies found only in LEGOLAND® Parks. My kids used this as an opportunity to take a break from playing but still be entertained.

LEGOLAND Water Park

LEGOLAND® Water Park is the only UAE water park designed specifically for kids aged 2-12 and their families. At this unique Water Park, take on the Joker Soaker, build your very own LEGO® raft, go on a splash safari or slip and slide your way down one of our many attractions! Below are just some of the ways we enjoyed our time at the waterpark.

The Joker Soaker

We were ready to take on the Joker! This fun and interactive water playground with slides offers something for every family member.

Rides & Slides

All my eldest son wants from any vacation are some thrilling rides. What’s more exciting than a waterslide?
There are 20 slides to choose from and you have the option of riding in pairs or groups on some of them. I love riding with my kids, it’s always more fun to experience fun activities together.
The Twin Chasers were a definite hit along with the Splash & Swirl and Tidal Tube.

Wave Pool

We really enjoyed the wave pool where the waves are just big enough for the whole family to enjoy.

Cabanas

It might be worth it for you to rent a cabana at the water park too!

Each cabana includes:
4x Towel Rental
Sun beds
Sofa
Privacy Curtains
Safe storage
4x Bottles of Water

We had such a wonderful time and I hope you enjoy your time at Legoland Theme Park and Water Park too!
